Camarines Norte Coop members receive a livelihood project.
The Department of Labor and Employment in Bicol (DOLE-5) livelihood program has assisted at least 53 member-beneficiaries of the Mount Cadig Development Association, Inc. (MCDAI) in the municipality of Sta. Elena in the province of Camarines Norte to begin their bread production.
In an interview on Wednesday, Johana Vi Gasga, a DOLE -5 information officer, stated that the agency has partnered with the Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) Research and Extension Office to provide livelihood and employment opportunities as part of its mission to improve the lives of workers in the marginalized sector.
Tools, equipment, and raw materials were recently given to MCDAI members for their bread manufacturing by the DOLE Cam Norte and CNSC, according to Gasga. The livelihood assistance is worth PHP352,850.
The association’s members were fortunate to be recognized as deserving participants of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) in the province, and Cyre Cabredo, chief of DOLE Camarines Norte, commended them.
“Isa ang inyong asosasyon sa mga nabigyan ng ganitong proyekto ng pamahalaan, mapalad po kayo. Dahil makakatulong po ito hindi lamang sa inyo, kundi sa inyo pong mga pamilya, ito po pagbutihan nyo po ang pamamalakad ng inyong negosyo. You are fortunate that your association is one of those that has been allocated this kind of project by the government. Hangad po namin ang paglago ng inyong negosyo para mas makatulong pa tayo sa iba pang miyembro at sa ating komunidad. Please take care of this and handle your company better because doing so would benefit not only you but also your families. We hope your business succeeds so we can continue to assist you and the rest of the community,” Cabredo said.
MCDAI Vice-President Antonio Compas thanks DOLE and CNSC for their efforts in bringing their projected project to fruition. He pledged to manage the project skillfully on behalf of all the association’s members and guaranteed that their participants would be eager to go through capability training to support their operations once they got going.
One of the three group undertaking projects that DOLE Camarines Norte has designated for implementation in collaboration with CNSC before the end of this year is the MCDAI project to produce bread.
