The 13th-month benefit and the monthly pension for qualifying members of the Social Security System (SSS) are expected to be paid out as early as the first week of December.

SSS President and CEO Michael Regino announced that 3.36 million pensioners will get payments totaling about PHP29.74 billion on Thursday.

For our seniors to be able to withdraw their benefits prior to the holiday rush, we also campaigned for the early crediting of the 13th month and December 2022 payments this year, Regino said.

“The SSS will release the first batch of the abovementioned pensions covering pensioners with dates of retirement within the first to the fifteenth day of the month today, December 1, 2022,” he continued.

The second batch, which applies to pensioners with contingency dates between December 16 and the last day of the month, will be released on December 4.

Due to the fact that December 4 comes on a Sunday, pensioners who are due to receive payments on that day can anticipate having their funds credited to their accounts on December 2.

By no later than December 4, the SSS has asked its approved non-PESONet participating banks to release the aforementioned pensions to their SSS-pensioner clients.

Additionally, it asked the Philippine Postal Corporation to speed up the delivery of the retirees’ checks when they use this way to get their payments.

We have been providing our retirees with the 13th-month pension, which is equal to their individual monthly pensions, since December 1988. Our method of saying “thank you” for your support of the SSS over your working years is to provide them with this additional financial assistance or Christmas gift, according to Regino.

Social Security retirement pensioners, survivors of beneficiaries of Social Security and Employees’ Compensation, and pensioners with total disabilities, including those with partial disabilities and pension durations of at least 12 months, are all eligible for the 13th month’s payment.
