During the third phase of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” large immunization effort on February 10 and 11, the government hopes to administer at least five million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

As of February 2, 7,704,701 of the 59,419,295 completely vaccinated Filipinos, including those who received the single-shot Janssen vaccine, had received booster shots.

Dr. Kezia Rosario, co-lead of the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) and a medical specialist, said that locations with low inoculation rates, particularly among senior residents and those with comorbidities, will be prioritized, but that all jab sites across the country must be operational.

“Magdadagdag pa tayo ng mga vaccination site, especially dito sa mga eco-zones, industrial parks, sa mga university, sa schools ‘no para din mahanap natin iyong mga may due for booster doses po,” she said at the Laging Handa public briefing on Saturday.

Various efforts have also been implemented by the national government, in collaboration with local government entities and the commercial sector, to increase booster immunization rates.

Private clinics and pharmacies have participated in the “Resbakuna sa Botika at Klinika” program, which has resulted in the administration of 2,242 booster doses.

The immunization for children aged 5 to 11 years old will begin on Monday in six Metro Manila locations, using modified Pfizer vaccines.

“Nananawagan po kami sa ating mga magulang, na siguradong sigurado po kami na talagang maganda po ang formulation na ito dahil mas mababa at 91 percent ang efficacy,” vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. stated before.

He also highlighted findings from the United States that the negative effects are “very minor.”
