When constructing residences, keep natural catastrophe hazards in mind: VP Sara

As risks of natural disasters remained foreseeable, ice President Sara Duterte advised Cavite families to develop more durable homes.

In a speech on Sunday, Duterte urged citizens to give natural calamities, which frequently strike the Philippines, some thought.

“When we design and consider where to place our homes, we need also think of floodwaters, earthquakes, and typhoon winds,” she said. “Kapag tayo ay nag-design at nag-iisip kung saan natin ilalagay ang ating mga bahay ay iniisip din natin ang tubig baha, lindol, at hangin dala

She mentioned that the home’s construction had to resist the worst of disasters.

“We should consider resilience in setting our home, the location of our house, and even its design,” she continued. “Dapat ay maging resilient ang pag-iisip natin (We should think with resilience in setting our home, the location of our house, and even its design).

Taking this into account, according to Duterte, is important, particularly given that the nation experiences an unpredictably high number of typhoons every year.

The bag in question is not mawawala in the aforementioned area. A-Z is the list, po yan dadaan. Taon-taon dadaan, mayroong mahina, mayroong malalakas na bagyo. The issue is that it is impossible to forecast when a storm will occur or where it will strike the nation. It always exists and has names ranging from A to Z. Each year, it travels through both powerful and weak typhoons. The issue is that neither its power nor its course can be predicted,” she stated.

While this was going on, Duterte oversaw the distribution of family food packs to more than 5,000 Cavite people who had been impacted by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

These included the 3,000 people in General Trias and the 2,500 people in Imus City who were harmed by the terrible winds and floods caused by the Paeng onslaught as it moved across Luzon.

To get relief to the afflicted citizens, the OVP teamed up with the Cavite municipal administration.
