227k PNP employees receive a service recognition incentive.

Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr., the head of the Philippine National Police (PNP), stated on Saturday that as of January 4, 227,604 uniformed and non-uniformed PNP employees have already received their Service Recognition Incentives (SRI).

According to a report from the PNP Finance Service, according to the released agency fund for Staff Services and Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) of the PNP, all qualifying PNP personnel earned a uniform rate of PHP7,000.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Executive Order No. 1 authorized the release of one-time SRI to government employees in recognition of their collective and invaluable support of the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure the responsive delivery of services, particularly in light of the ongoing public health emergency brought on by the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic and other socioeconomic difficulties.

“On behalf of the men and women of the PNP, we thank the President for providing SRI to PNP members and other national government employees. We are grateful for the continued confidence in our police force and the recognition of our service for the safety of every Filipino citizen, said Azurin. “Tayo ay nagpapasalamat sa patuloy na pagtitiwala sa ating kapulisan at sa pagkilala sa ating serbisyo para sa kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayang Pilipin

As of November 30, 2022, those who had completed less than four months of satisfactory service received a prorated share of SRI: 40% for those who had completed three to less than four months of service, 30% for those who had completed two to less than three months, 20% for those who had completed one to less than two months, and 10% for those who had completed more than two months of service (less than one month).

According to the TRAIN Law, a tax of between 25 and 30 percent was applied to the SRI amount received.

The SRI will be made available to all civilian employees of national government ministries, including state universities, colleges, and businesses that are owned or run by the government. The SRI will also be distributed by uniformed and military people.

For employees of local government units, the decision to give the one-time SRI will be made by their individual Sanggunians based on the LGU’s financial strength.

Likewise, their Boards of Directors have the authority to determine whether to give SRI to employees of Local Water Districts. The same is true for employees of organizations that are not covered by RA No. 6758, as amended, and whose boards of directors or department heads decide whether to grant SRI to employees.
