Pakistan suffers a significant power outage
On Monday morning, a significant power outage hit Pakistan, forcing government buildings, airlines, hospitals, and commercial buildings all around the nation to rely on backup generators.
The breakdown, which the Energy Ministry stated was caused by a drop in frequency in the national grid, happened at 7:34 a.m. local time (0334 GMT), leaving a large number of cities and towns in the country without electricity for an extended period of time.
According to reports from the country’s capital Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Peshawar, and other cities, the power outage is still having an impact on daily life, and many planned activities have been rescheduled or canceled.
According to Energy Minister Khurram Dastagir, power will be restored nationwide over the next 12 hours when grid stations in Peshawar and Islamabad have started to function again.
This South Asian nuclear nation frequently has severe power outages, mostly due to subpar infrastructure and inadequate maintenance regulations.
