From April 10 to April 16, there was a 23 percent increase in the nation’s daily average of new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), according to a Department of Health (DOH) report released on Monday.

The organization reported 341 daily illnesses, up from 278 between April 3 and April 9.

In total, 2,386 new cases and 20 documented deaths occurred in the most recent week.

The number of serious and critical infections decreased from 378 to 356 during the same period.

Only 234 of the 1,900 beds in the intensive care unit (ICU) are being used, or 12.3 percent, whereas 2,929 of the 16,791 non-ICU beds are being used, or 17.4 percent.

As of March 19, at least 78,443,972 people, or 100.4% of the target population for the nation (78,100,578), have received the Covid-19 vaccine, including 82.16 percent of 8,721,357 seniors.

Out of the population that has received all recommended vaccinations, 23,811,248 have received booster doses.

Over 4.08 million coronavirus illnesses and more than 66,420 fatalities have been reported in the nation thus far.
