The continuous modernization effort of the Philippine Navy (PN) has benefited greatly from its close relationship with Israel.

On June 5, the head of the Philippine Navy, Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr., stated the arrival of Israel’s Foreign Minister, Eliyahu Cohen, at Naval Station Jose Andrada, Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

In a statement released Tuesday night, Adaci stated, “Our Navy has benefited from the partnership and relationship with Israel as we also increased the level of collaboration for the past years.”

The installation of launchers and Spike-ER missiles on six of its multipurpose attack craft, the delivery of four of the nine Shaldag Mark V patrol boats known as the Acero-class gunboats in Philippine service, the renovation of the naval shipyard in Sangley Point, Cavite, and the impending delivery and installation of non-light-of-sight (NLOS) missiles and launchers for the Israeli-made patrol craft are all results of the strong PN partnership with Israel.

Additionally, Cohen expressed gratitude to the PN for its longstanding partnership with Israel and stated that it was “a priority for us to strengthen our relationship.”

He remarked, “We come with an open mind and heart to work with you in any area.

Cohen’s courtesy visit, according to Adaci, served to solidify relations between the two nations further and paved the path for additional interactions.
