PCSO rushes to get 225 ambulances to local government units across the country

The distribution of 225 ambulances to different local government units (LGUs) around the nation is being accelerated by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

According to a PCSO press release on Tuesday, PCSO Chairman Junie E. Cua made the declaration at the Mindanao-League of Municipalities of the Philippines convention on June 10 in Davao City.

“I would like to announce that very soon, our procurement of 225 units of ambulances will be partially completed, and those of you who have submitted their request, if you have submitted before and were not included in the priority list, baka sakaling mapagbigyan na (hopefully your request will be accommodated),” Cua said to the group of local executives from Mindanao.

The PCSO gives priority to providing medical transport vehicles to LGUS in remote, underserved locations, as well as to those in conflict zones and vulnerable groups.

Additionally, he reaffirmed that the PCSO will continue to concentrate its efforts on raising money so that it may grow its medical assistance programs.

Around 250,000 people with health issues who sought financial support through the PCSO’s Medical Support Programme (MAP) received more than PHP2 billion in direct aid in 2022.

“The agency is attempting to do these things in order to enhance your experience with us. We’ll keep bolstering this, he declared.

Cua, a former governor, and representative of the province of Quirino, stated that the agency is also looking at methods to engage more closely with mayors and other key members of the executive branch of government.

“The mayors are on the front lines of government service; you are more knowledgeable about what is going on in the field,” As a result, it is crucial that our agency aid the local executives, he stated.

The former local government executive used the occasion to express his perspectives on local administration, in particular his ideals for doing public service, which he encapsulated in the acronym “GREAT.”

He explained that the acronym “GREAT” stood for good governance, right-sizing, efficiency, accountability, and transparency.

He also emphasized the value of networking to raise more money to support initiatives for sustainable development.
