The National Certificates (NCs) that the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) issues are not for sale, the organization reaffirmed on Monday.

The warning was issued in response to allegations of phony NCs being sold online and the recent arrest of a guy in Cotabato City for selling fake NCs.

“TESDA offices will only grant NCs to qualified applicants who have aced the test required for their particular qualifications. These NCs have a five-year validity period from the time they are issued, according to TESDA Director General Suharto Mangudadatu.

To ensure compliance with rules on program registration, assessment, and certification procedures, TESDA will routinely inspect its approved training and assessment centers.

Mangudadatu, on the other hand, suggested that certified employees and employers check the legitimacy of the NCs online. Users can view the TESDA Registry of Certified Workers on the agency’s website.

Additionally, the general public is requested to inform TESDA of anyone selling phony NCs. They can contact TESDA via phone at (888) 7777 or by sending a message at (0917) 479-4370.

“TESDA prioritizes the integrity of its certification system when certifying middle-level workers to ensure their productivity, quality, and global competitiveness,” Mangudadatu added.
