
NDRRMC: Gov’t aid for the Mayon volcano residents reaches P131.2M
The government’s aid to residents affected by the Mayon Volcano eruption in the Bicol Region has reached PHP131.2 million, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
The assistance includes essential items such as distilled water, food packs, tents, financial aid, hygiene kits, rice, and more.
Currently, 11,045 families, equivalent to 42,815 individuals, are affected by the volcanic unrest in 26 barangays. Out of these, 5,775 families stay in evacuation centers, while 408 individuals receive aid outside the centers.
These numbers are subject to change as ongoing validation efforts continue.
The Office of Civil Defense clarified that the affected families include both those who have been displaced and those who do not require evacuation.
