The Land Bank of the Philippines (Landbank) opened its first mobile facility here on Wednesday, which will act as a pop-up branch to reach out to more Filipinos in underserved areas.

In a tweet on the Landbank branch banking sector’s official social media account, executive vice president Julio Climaco Jr. stated, “We are extremely pleased to launch today the very first Landbank mobile branch in the nation, right here, particularly first in the City of San Fernando.”

The transportable facility, according to Climaco, will serve as a pop-up branch at different locations throughout the country.

“We are establishing our mobile branch to provide financial services in the case of disasters and similar situations. We’re on the go, serving where we’re most needed. This would be extremely helpful if there are a lot of catastrophes tulad ng bagyo (particularly if there are typhoons, earthquakes, and other natural disasters),” he added.

Mayor Edwin Santiago was praised by Climaco for his assistance in achieving their newest financial innovation.

The significance of the Landbank mobile branch in the distribution of cash subsidies and social ameliorations under the LGU’s social services and programs, according to Santiago.

“This Landbank mobile branch will create efficient, safe, and secure financial assistance distribution, with a focus on elderly, people with disabilities, and local Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries,” he added.

Following the inauguration, Landbank, in collaboration with the City Social Welfare and Development Office, began issuing cash cards to the first group of elderly people who had received LGU cash handouts.
