The private sector is awaiting the results of the pilot vaccination of minors, as well as the government’s approval for companies to undertake their own immunization program for the young population.

According to Joey Concepcion, Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship, the private sector has a supply of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine brands that may be administered to those aged 12 to 17.

Vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna have been authorized for minors.

“We’ve got Moderna.” We have bought (the vaccinations) and had them in storage. At the very least, we can use it to vaccinate the children of our workers. So, the private sector will take care of the second half. “Most of our workers and their families have already been vaccinated, so the youngsters will be next,” he stated at the Laging Handa public briefing.

Through a tripartite arrangement with the government and vaccine producers, the private sector bought a total of 24 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

AstraZeneca has 17 million doses and Moderna has 7 million doses that can be vaccinated to populations aged 12 to 17 years.

Concepcion emphasized the necessity of immunizing children in order for face-to-face courses to be permitted in the nation.

Minors who have been fully vaccinated should also be permitted to visit commercial facilities such as malls and restaurants, he said.
