For the Bar exams, traffic around UST, FEU, and DLSU has been redirected.

During the 2020/21 Bar examinations on February 4 and 6, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced temporary traffic restrictions in the vicinity of three colleges in Manila.

According to a traffic alert issued by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday, many roads near the University of Santo Tomas (UST), Far Eastern University (FEU), and De La Salle University (DLSU) will be closed, and parking near the test venues will be forbidden.

According to the MMDA, “the precise time of closing and opening of impacted routes would be determined on the real traffic condition.”

The westbound lane of Espaa Boulevard between Lacson Avenue and P. Noval will be closed near UST.

Drivers who wish to travel via the impacted region are recommended to turn right at A.H. Lacson, left at Dapitan, or left at A. Mendoza.

The MMDA stated, “All vehicles from southbound A.H Lacson Ave. must go straight to Nagtahan to point of destination.”

The westbound lane of N. Reyes Street near FEU will be closed from Espaa Boulevard to C.M. Recto Avenue.

The MMDA stated that “any cars coming from Espaa Blvd. wishing to use the westbound lane of N. Reyes shall turn right to P. Campa St., turn left to A. Mendoza proceeding to CM Recto to point of destination.”

The southbound lane of Taft Avenue will be restricted from Quirino Avenue to Estrada Street, near DLSU.

It urged vehicles who wanted to use Taft Avenue’s southbound lane to get to Makati City or Pasay City to turn right on Quirino Avenue, left on Adriatico, and then right on P. Ocampo to their destination.

“All cars heading eastbound on Quirino Ave. wishing to use the southbound lane of Taft Ave. to drive to Makati/Pasay region shall turn right to L. Guinto St., right to Estrada St., left to Taft Ave. to point of destination,” according to the MMDA.

During the drop-off of Bar examinees, a “stop-and-go” traffic plan will be used on Espaa Boulevard, N. Reyes Street, and Taft Avenue.

The Supreme Court had already postponed the 2020/21 Bar examination, which was initially planned for January 23 and 25, to February 4 and 6, due to a large number of examinees being unable due to Covid-19, with many being sick, caring for the sick, or quarantined.

About 16.8% of the 8,546 Bar examinees who answered to the Office of the Bar Chairperson’s email are either positive for Covid-19, live with someone who is infected with Covid-19, or are quarantined owing to direct contact with someone who is positive.
