On Thursday, the Philippines recorded 15,290 new recoveries from the coronavirus illness 2019 (Covid-19).

The Department of Health (DOH) reported in its monthly Covid-19 bulletin that this increased the recovery count to 3,377,958 cases, or 94.2 percent, out of a total of 3,585,461 confirmed cases.

Another 8,702 new infections were reported, making it the third day in a row that the number of new infections has fallen below 10,000.

The 7,661 new illnesses on Thursday are slightly higher than the 7,661 new infections on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, active cases fell to 153,335 from 160,297 on Wednesday.
There are 143,493 active instances with mild symptoms, 4,923 with no symptoms, 3,067 with moderate symptoms, 1,528 with severe symptoms, and 324 in critical condition.

With 71 more deaths, the death toll now stands at 54,168.

According to the most recent data on Covid-19 testing, 42,446 tests were given on Tuesday, with a 25.5 percent positivity rate.

The country’s healthcare utilization rate (HCUR) is decreasing as fewer individuals are admitted to hospitals.

The utilization rate of the country’s intensive care units (3,800 beds) is 44 percent. Isolation (20,700) and ward (15,800) beds are both at 43%, with 24% of 3,100 ventilators in use.

The HCUR in the National Capital Region (NCR) is lower than the national average, with 37 percent of 1,300 ICU beds occupied, 32 percent of 4,700 isolation beds occupied, 36 percent of 4,300 ward beds occupied, and 23 percent of 1,000 ventilators in use.
