MANILA, Philippines — The meteorological office stated Wednesday that rain will continue to fall in most parts of the country due to two weather systems and the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA).

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a 4 a.m. weather advisory, predicting scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Eastern Visayas, Bicol, Mimaropa, Caraga, and Davao regions, as well as the provinces of Aklan, Capiz, Quezon, and Aurora, due to a sheer line affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon and the Visayas, and

The northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” which is impacting northern and central Luzon, will bring rain to Cagayan Valley.

During moderate to heavy rainfall, flash floods or landslides are expected, according to PAGASA.

The bureau warned in a supplementary warning released at 2 a.m. that moderate to heavy rains will be experienced throughout Eastern Visayas and Sorsogon in the next 24 hours, with at times strong rainfall.

It also predicted precipitation in the range of moderate to heavy in Quezon and the remainder of Bicol.

Rains are expected in the Ilocos and Cordillera regions as a result of the northeast monsoon.

The shear line will bring isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms to Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, over northern and central Luzon, as well as the eastern half of southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue to dominate.

Northern Luzon’s and central Luzon’s eastern seaboards, as well as southern Luzon’s, the Visayas, and Mindanao, will be buffeted by strong to gale-force winds.

Larger sea vessels are warned against strong waves, while fishing boats and other small vessels are cautioned not to enter into the water.

Winds will be light to moderate elsewhere, with modest to moderate seas.
