In order to combat CPP-NPA infiltration, the Army educates Aurora students.

Aurora, BALER – The 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion (91IB) of the Philippine Army has warned students at the Lyceum of the East-Aurora (LEA) in Maria Aurora town, this province, against being swayed by false ideologies of leftist organizations, many of which have ties to communist terrorist groups (CTGs) under the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army – National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).

On Saturday, 91IB Civil-Military Operations Officer Capt. Candidato Paduman gave a presentation to 58 LEA students on the CTG’s infiltration activities in the youth sector, emphasizing the necessity to educate young Filipinos on the CPP-propaganda NPA’s in order to prevent being recruited by the communist group.

Due to their naivety, Paduman believes that youth, particularly those living in depressed and secluded locations, are open to false beliefs.

“Our young must not be misled by terrorist propaganda that is based on lies and deceptions. “There are a lot of incidents of recruitment in some schools, and this usually happens if they can easily control the youth,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the commander of 91IB, Lt. Col. Reandrew P. Rubio, thanked the LEA administration, led by Engr. Jaime S. Gose, for inviting them to conduct the seminar in order to disseminate accurate information about the government’s sincerity in promoting long-term peace and development, particularly in geographically isolated areas.

The ongoing dissemination of knowledge and interaction with the young and many sectors, according to Rubio, is a critical component of the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict’s goals (PTF-ELCAC).

“This is an excellent platform for educating our youth and making them aware of the communist terrorist group’s falsehoods and deception.” As part of the situational awareness campaign, we’ll ramp up this action to counter the CTGs’ propaganda operations,” he added.

The United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Philippines have all designated the CPP-NPA as a terrorist organization.

On June 23, 2021, the Anti-Terrorism Council formally recognized the National Democratic Front as a terrorist organization, claiming it as “an integral and inseparable member” of the CPP-NPA formed in April 1973.
