The next press secretary wants to see the PCOO and related agencies upgraded.

MANILA, Philippines – Press Secretary-designate Rose Beatrix “Trixie” Cruz-Angeles pledged on Friday to make the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and its associated agencies “responsive” under her watch.

Cruz-Angeles stated she will search for additional monies to boost the services of the new PCOO in an interview with UNTV’s Get it Straight.

She will devise a “short-term, medium-term, and long-term” strategy to guarantee that information is delivered efficiently and effectively to the public.

“Everything will be prioritized, and I won’t be able to ignore the needs of the various associated agencies,” Cruz-Angeles added. “Pondo ‘yong isa sa pinakamalaking konsiderasyon para ma-upgrade ‘yung (Funding is the most important factor in upgrading) government information distribution facilities.”

People’s Television Network (PTV-4), Inc., News and Information Bureau-Philippine News Agency, Philippine Information Agency, Intercontinental Broadcasting Corp., Radio Television Malacanang, Bureau of Broadcast Services, Bureau of Communications Services, National Printing Office, and Apo Production Unit, Inc. are among the PCOO’s affiliated agencies.

Cruz-Angeles thanked the outgoing leaders of the PCOO and its affiliated agencies for making the transition “simple,” as well as for pointing out their flaws and letting her know what still needs to be done.

Cruz-Angeles stated that she will perform regular monitoring of the accomplishments of all agencies, bureaus, and offices under the PCOO in her first 100 days in office.

To avoid the public view that the policies and programs she will undertake are a “waste of government resources,” she made the statement.

“Kahit ang daming trabaho (Even if you have a lot of effort to do) to move into that achievement, mahirap (it’s difficult) to account to the public,” Cruz-Angeles remarked. “So, titignan ko talaga na may important achievements ang bawat ahensiya na nakakabit sa PCOO”

Cruz-Angeles promised that the PCOO’s affiliated agencies will be treated “equally” and given the opportunity to propose their ideas for improving their information and communications services.

“That’s what I want,” she continued, “for the PCOO to be attentive to what people are saying out there.” “We’d like to improve delivery and responsiveness. So, let’s see what happens. In the first 100 days, we will also be studying.”

Cruz-Angeles stated that she would make every effort to elevate state-owned media outlets such as PTV-4 to world-class status.

“That is something we must strive for. At the very least, let’s give it a shot, ‘di ba (right)? ‘Oh, it can’t be done,’ we can’t say, and you won’t do it,’ hindi mo na gagawin (then you won’t do it). Subukan natin, gagawin natin (Let’s give it our best shot). If I don’t succeed, I don’t succeed. However, we must make an effort “she stated
