Prior to F2F courses, QC parents vaccinate their children with Covid-19.
Parents in Quezon City have begun sending their little children to the city’s authorized coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination clinics to have them immunized against the dreaded sickness in advance of their return to face-to-face classrooms the following school year.
Some parents of school-age children claimed in an interview with the Philippine News Agency that immunizing their children provides them peace of mind when regular classes begin in November.
Classes at public schools will start on Monday, August 22, 2022, with the choice of in-person, blended, or full-distance learning, but only through October 31. The Department of Education previously announced this. In-person instruction will be required nationwide in all public and private institutions by November 2.
“All public and private schools must switch to five days of in-person instruction by November 2, 2022. The Department Order (DO) 34, series of 2022, signed by Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte on July 11 states that no school shall be permitted to implement distance learning or blended learning after the said date solely, with the exception of those that are implementing Alternative Delivery Modes as provided for in DO 21, s.2O19 entitled “Policy Guidelines on the K to 12 Basic Education Program” and DO O1, s.2022 entitled, “Revised Policy Guidelines on Homeschooling Program
Azalea Bernadette, her 7-year-old daughter, has been kept confined to their home for the past two years, according to Nathaniel Galut, along with other kids as a result of the worldwide pandemic.
However, he said that keeping kids at home had already had an impact on their development as learners.
“The vaccine gives them extra protection, so they could start leaving the house because they have been indoors for so long and it’s unfortunate,” Galut said. “Pag vaccinated sila, may extra protection, para makalabas-labas na din kasi medyo matagal nang na-stock yung mga bata sa bahay eh kawawa naman.”
Antonio Hernandez is confident that the Covid-19 vaccination will prevent her daughter Paula, who is 7 years old, from contracting the virus.
He also asked other parents to bring their kids to the designated Covid-19 vaccination sites, especially those who frequently leave the house for work.
The reason for this is to keep them safe, particularly since face-to-face classes will soon begin. He continued, “Para safe talaga kasi mag pe-face-to-face classes na eh, tapos lumalabas labas din ako, hindi ko masabi baka mahawa ko siya kaya mabuti na ang may bakuna (This is to make them safe, especially
In the meantime, Stephanie Sy claimed that the decision to vaccinate their 5-year-old son Matthew against Covid-19 was one that both she and her husband had made.
She also enjoyed how simple and convenient the QC government made the immunization process.
Sy stated, “With the increasing cases pa rin, parang it seems like Covid-19 will not be completely eradicated in the upcoming months (as of today, it seems like Covid-19 will still exist).
A total of 391,209 children between the ages of 5 and 17 have already received their first dosage of the Covid-19 vaccination from the Quebec government as of Thursday, July 14.
6,161,528 doses of the Covid-19 vaccination have already been administered by the city authorities.
Of the total, 2,527,245 have gotten two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, including those who have only had the Janssen vaccine in a single dosage, and the city has already given 1,096,112 booster doses.
