425 new examples of the Omicron BA.5 subvariant are found by PH.
The Department of Health (DOH) said on Friday that 425 additional instances of the Omicron BA.5 subvariant of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) had been discovered in the nation.
Five of the cases are from Central Luzon, 214 are from Western Visayas, seven are from Central Visayas, two are from Northern Mindanao, 146 are from Davao Region, 21 are from Soccsksargen, 19 are from Calabarzon, one is from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, one is from Caraga, and nine are from the National Capital Region, according to the DOH.
Additionally, there were 10 BA.4 cases: two from Soccsksargen, seven from Davao, and one from Northern Mindanao.
Meanwhile, the Davao Region reported one more BA.2.75 cases.
All reported cases have been confirmed based on the most recent genome sequencing data from September 5 to 7.
