Marcos praises educators’ crucial contributions to the country.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. thanked teachers nationwide on Wednesday for their “invaluable service” to the country, particularly as limited face-to-face classes resumed.

Marcos urged Filipinos to recognize teachers’ “sacrifices” in shaping children and equipping them to fulfill their ambitions in his National Teachers’ Day speech.

“As we securely reopen our schools and usher in a new era of learning amid the post-pandemic environment, this is also a fantastic chance to offer our profound appreciation for their great service to the nation,” he said.

He spoke to teachers as “vital drivers of our nation” and referred to education as “the backbone of any flourishing civilization.”

He said, “Today, we honor our dear educators across the nation for fostering the holistic growth of our youth as they strive to be agents of change in their communities and beyond.

Marcos expressed confidence that the nation will “grow stronger with every Filipino becoming more capable of establishing a better future for everybody” with the aid of teachers.

“May this celebration not only motivate those whose desire it is to be such true agents of unity and empowerment but also inspire present teachers as they continue their efforts to mold the lives of our young learners,” he said.

On August 22, the Philippines celebrated the return of traditional classroom instruction following two years of blended learning during the coronavirus pandemic.

In a previous statement, Marcos stated that he thought learning was “more effective within classrooms where pupils completely connect with their lecturers and fellow students.”

September 5 to October 5 is National Teachers’ Month (NTM), a time to recognize people who work as teachers and thank them for their dedication to raising up-and-coming leaders who can see the world from different perspectives.

According to Proclamation No. 242 of 2011, the nation began its NTM celebration.

On October 5, which is also National Teachers’ Day and World Teachers’ Day, the 2022 NTM will end.
