As the PNP is now on full alert, more police are on holiday patrol.

As part of stepped-up security measures for the holiday season, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is currently on maximum alert.

The goal of the measure, according to PNP head Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr.’s statement on Friday, is to ensure that everyone has a meaningful, secure, and joyful holiday season.

All police officers will be on standby and prepared to deploy for the whole alert period. Additionally, all paid time off and holidays will be canceled in favor of stepped-up patrols and checkpoint operations.

Additionally, Azurin gave orders to all PNP unit commanders to change the foot and mobile patrol deployment in order to deal with huge gatherings and celebrations, as well as extended mall hours, the operation of night markets, and food parks throughout the holiday season.

As they may also be called upon to offer traffic control, respond to emergencies, and help with crowd management during events, said Azurin, “These police officers play a critical role in preserving order and assisting in the prevention of crime at this time.

Col. Jean Fajardo, a spokesman for the PNP, stated that no alarming incidents were reported on the first day of the annual “Simbang Gabi” nationwide.

“We can say that from the first night until this early morning of the start of the evening church of our Catholic countrymen, it was generally peaceful and orderly. She noted that many people attended the event because it was the first Christmas to be celebrated following the extremely difficult time during the pandemic when people were unable to leave their homes.

In fact, kagabi pa lang ay na-monitor natin may mga nauna na yung tinatawag na anticipated Mass ng gabi ay may mga nauna na tayo na mga kababayan natin nauna na um-attend ng Simbang Gabi (That’s right because in the previous two years we
