According to a statement on the company’s blog, Microsoft Corporation will formally end support for Windows 8.1 on January 10, 2023.

Software upgrades and security systems won’t be available, and users won’t receive any technical support after January 10 for whatever reason. Although there won’t be any further updates, the computer running this operating system will still function. In this respect, the business advises updating to an operating system that is still supported, such as Windows 11.

Additionally, as of Jan. 10, users won’t be able to download and install software from the Microsoft Store onto their Windows 8.1 computers. The users had such an opportunity until the deadline.

Microsoft Edge version 109, which is expected to go on sale after January 12, will be the most recent version of the browser to support Windows 8.1.

In 2013, Microsoft unveiled the Windows 8.1 operating system. This technology is primarily designed for touchscreen computers. Additionally, it supports older machines.
