
PH joined the VIP Club after a successful economic year: PBBM
The Philippines’ participation in the has been hailed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr “A ranking of Southeast Asian nations with the best-performing economies, dubbed the “VIP Club” by business executives at the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Marcos claimed in a news release issued by Malacanang on Sunday that the Philippines’ attendance at the WEF in Davos, Switzerland, provided a great opportunity to highlight the country’s robust economic performance.

Marcos also had the chance to speak with and exchange ideas with a number of heads of state and government, including former British prime minister Tony Blair, World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, World Bank Managing Director for Operations Axel Van Trotsenburg, and International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
Among the initiatives he emphasized were the Philippine Development Plan, the 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda, and “many other laws and policies that highlight the economic changes made in the Philippines that have supported long-term prosperity.
When the Philippines participated in the WEF’s Country Strategy Dialogue, he also announced the soft launch of the nation’s first-ever sovereign wealth fund.
In his welcome address after taking part in the WEF, Marcos stated that his presence in the international forum was intended to draw attention to the new economic condition and policies promoting the Philippines and to learn from the heads of state and leading global business figures.
