Alfredo Pascual, secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), travels throughout Europe for three weeks to promote the Philippines as a center for foreign investment.

Pascual hopes to attract European investors to the Philippines during the Europe Investment Roadshow, which runs from June 18 to July 6. He is particularly interested in manufacturing, R&D, higher-value services, and renewable energy.

The team from the Philippines will be in France from June 18 to June 21. Pascual will meet with his French counterpart for the 10th Joint Economic Commission (JEC) and the investment event.

The head of the DTI will visit the UK from June 21 to June 23, Belgium from June 25 to June 28, the Netherlands from June 29 to July 1, and Germany from July 3 to July 5.

“As part of the Roadshow, Investment Fora in Belgium and Germany, as well as roundtable discussions with business communities in France, the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands, will be conducted to reinvigorate the interest of European investors and to apprise them of the current economic performance, advantages, and opportunities for investments in the Philippines,” the DTI said in a statement on Monday.

According to the statement, the investment roadshow is a continuation of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s visit to Brussels and the Netherlands in 2022.

The DTI continued, “The Europe Investment Roadshow demonstrates the Philippines’ commitment to luring foreign direct investments and provides a dynamic forum for participants to foster strategic alliances, engage in meaningful conversation, and investigate opportunities for growing their businesses.
