Duterte insists that all Filipinos be allowed to return home

President Rodrigo Duterte has not altered his stance about enabling Filipinos to return home, despite outbreaks of the extremely contagious Delta form of the coronavirus.

Duterte, according to Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, continues to advocate for the unhindered repatriation of all Filipinos.

“Para kay Pangulong Duterte, mga kapwa natin Pilipino ‘yan, mga kapwa natin Pilipino ‘yan, mga kapwa natin Pilipino ‘yan, muy If you’re interested in umuwi, karapatan nila umuwi sa ating bansa. Ang kapwa natin Pilipino maka-uwi sa atin hindi natin pipigilan. Unfair po yan sa kapwa natin Pilipino kung pipigilan natin sila umuwi (They are our fellow Filipinos, according to President Duterte.) It is their right to return home if they so choose. We won’t be able to prevent our comrades from returning. That’s unjust to them),” Nograles said on Sunday in a radio broadcast.

On Sunday, the Department of Health (DOH) verified 55 additional Delta variant cases, increasing the overall number of cases in the nation to 119.

The instances were from the most recent batch of samples analyzed by the Philippine Genome Center at the University of the Philippines.

Nograles stated that testing and quarantine procedures had been established by the national government.

“May protocols naman naman naman naman naman naman naman naman n At ang ibig sabihin ng procedures natin, itong 10-day quarantine sa mga non-green nations or jurisdictions. Tapos swab test on the seventh day (Protocols are in place.) A 10-day quarantine for visitors from non-green nations or jurisdictions is one of them. Then on the seventh day, they’re swabbed),” he said.

The DOH has categorized green nations and jurisdictions as “low risk” based on illness incidence rates.

Fully immunized visitors from green nations and jurisdictions must provide certified proof of immunization.

Current testing and quarantine procedures, according to Nograles, are “effective” in avoiding the spread of the new strain.

Duterte previously said that he is considering tougher health measures against the Delta version.

“The country’s documented local instances are the reason for significant worry and concern. It’s repetitive once again, but it’s as good as any warning that can be sent to the public. To avoid large gatherings and superspreader events, we may need to impose tighter limitations “In his public speech on July 19, he stated.

There are 37 local cases and 17 returning abroad Filipinos among the new Delta variant infections.

The Delta coronavirus variant was discovered in India and was shown to be 60 percent more infectious than the Alpha version (identified in the United Kingdom).

According to sources, Delta is to blame for the increase of Covid-19 instances in other nations.
