The deadline for renewing business permits in Marikina has been extended.
The city government of Marikina has extended the deadline for renewing business permits from January 20 to February 28.
Ordinance 003 Series of 2022, approved by Mayor Marcelino Teodoro, allowed traders extra time to renew their business permits.
In a Facebook post, the local government said, “Walang multa ang pag-renew ng business permit hanggang Feb. 28 (No fines to renew business permits until Feb. 28).”
Teodoro explained that the deadline was extended to assist businesspeople in the wake of a recent rise in COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila.
According to the local health office’s most recent report, there are at least 2,048 ongoing COVID-19 cases in Marikina.
With 265 cases, Barangay Concepcion Dos led the way, followed by Nangka (204), Fortune (174), Concepcion Uno (173), and Tumana (141).
