116 businesses affected by the implementation of Alert Level 3 in different parts of the country, including Metro Manila, have filed for monetary assistance through the Department of Labor and Employment’s Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) 3. (DOLE).

DOLE Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay stated in a virtual forum on Monday that CAMP 3 will benefit 1,223 workers from 116 companies.

“As of 4 p.m., the most recent application in the system was 116 establishments involving 1,223 people,” she said.

Meanwhile, Tutay claimed that about 500 people have applied for the PHP5,000 one-time monetary help.

She stated that the online application was launched at 12:01 a.m. on Monday.

Workers who are harmed by temporary closure, permanent closure, or retrenchment of companies are covered by CAMP 3, according to Tutay.

“As of January 23, there were 25,855 workers affected by interim closures, permanent closures, and retrenchment from 1,676 enterprises,” Tutay added.

Hotel and food services, construction, manufacturing, education, wholesale and retail, administrative and support services, and other industries are among the important sectors.

According to her, the CAMP 3 program does not cover businesses that use flexible work arrangements.
