The municipal health office (CHO) reported a small drop in active coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases here on Thursday.

The dip was especially noticeable between January 31 and February 1, when the number of cases fell by 52, from 2,683 to 2,631.

According to the CHO, this occurred after 133 fresh recoveries and 88 new cases were documented on February 1.

In a statement, CHO chief Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite said, “We hope that the decreasing trend will continue.”

She did say, however, that the death toll had risen to 1,152 when seven further deaths were reported.

The city had 27,068 confirmed Covid-19 cases as of February 1, with 23,285 recoveries, 2,631 active cases, and 1,152 deaths.

According to the data, 72 percent of active cases are asymptomatic, 25.6 percent have mild symptoms, 1.8 percent have moderate symptoms, 0.4 percent have severe symptoms, and 0.2 percent have critical symptoms.

Miravite reminded the public to adhere to minimal health standards and to avoid the “3Cs” (closed areas, crowded places, and close-contact situations).
