‘Get vaccinated and involve your kids,’ Duterte advises parents.

President Rodrigo Duterte reaffirmed his call for parents and their children to obtain their Covid-19 vaccinations on Monday, as the country began its Covid-19 immunization campaign for children aged 5 to 11.

“Get your children vaccinated and include them in the process since it will protect their future health and survival.” “Vaccines are crucial,” he remarked in his prerecorded Talk to the People.

Children must be vaccinated, he urged, “because they are the next generation of Filipinos.”

“These are the Filipinos of the future.” “It’s critical that you take your children to vaccination locations and get them vaccinated,” he advised. “If you love your country, ang anak mo, pagsabayin mo ang dalawang rason na yan (if you love your children, utilize these two reasons), immunize them.”

According to data provided by Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, the bulk of persons who died as a result of Covid-19 had yet to obtain their vaccines.

In the same meeting, Duque stated that approximately 93 percent of Covid-19 fatalities in 2021 were caused by those who had not been vaccinated against the disease.

Duterte has been urging people to get vaccinated and has warned them that the health crisis is far from finished.

“Noon, sinabi namin,” says the narrator. Ngayon, sabihin ko ulit na ulit na ulit na ulit na ulit (Before, we told you.) Ewan ko ilang beses Now we’re telling you once more. I’m not sure how many times I need to repeat the statement. Of course, with a caution that we are not yet over the hump sa sitwasyon ngayon (in the current situation), we are not yet over the hump. “We can’t say it’s gone because the bacteria are still in the air,” he explained.

“Ako, nagpapasensya ako sa inyo na miski ganito nalang na paulit-ulit dahil nga interisado akong mabuhay kayo dahil nga interisado akong mabuhay kayo.” However, if mamatay’s desire is met, alright man rin. (Me, I’m being patient with you even if I have to tell it over and over because I want you to survive.) But it’s fine if you want to die. There are numerous cemeteries in this area),” he added.

Despite learning of worldwide deaths, Duterte said he couldn’t understand why some people refused to get vaccinated.

“I’m not sure what ang utak ng mga taong ito means. People in the government and the commercial sector have spoken out about the need of immunization, but unless people understand that kung nandiyan na, nasa ospital na, lahat naman nasa ospital ngayon, hindi bakunado. Ayan, ospital kaagad (I have no idea how their brains function.) People are already dying, and people in the public and private sectors are preaching about the need for vaccination, but until people learn that patients in hospitals are not vaccinated, they will continue to die. They go immediately to the hospital from there),” he explained.

He went on to say that he doesn’t want to come out as “sick” by expressing facts, but that the public has to be educated.

“Masakit nga pakinggan, pero kailangan ko sabihin sa inyo yung totoo yung totoo yung totoo yung totoo yung totoo yung totoo yung totoo yung totoo .” (It sounds painful, but I need to tell you the truth). We don’t discuss topics that aren’t true. We don’t focus on things that aren’t true. We are not permitted to speak here na hindi tama. (That is incorrect.) Kailangan talaga ang lumalabas sa bunganga naming yung tama lang. He stated, “What comes out of our tongue is simply the truth).”

Despite the fact that the Omicron version of Covid-19 is thought to be milder than other variants, Duterte claims that getting vaccinated will prevent people from severe illness and death caused by variants like Delta.

To now, the Pfizer vaccine is being used for pediatric vaccination because it is the only one that has gotten emergency use approval from the Philippines’ Food and Drug Administration for children aged 5 to 11.

Pfizer’s children’s vaccine has a lower dose and concentration than the vaccines supplied to minors aged 12 to 17, who began receiving their shots in October 2021.

Secretary Vince Dizon, the President’s Adviser on Covid-19 Response, informed Duterte that 60 million Filipinos had now been completely vaccinated.

In the meantime, over 8 million booster doses have been given out.
