BUTUAN CITY, PHILIPPINES – Surigao del Sur leads neighboring provinces in the Caraga Region in immunization campaigns against the coronavirus illness 2019 (Covid-19), according to the regional health office.

According to the Department of Health in Caraga (DOH-13), as of April 24, 363,272 people in Surigao del Sur were fully vaccinated.

“This figure represents 71.46 percent of the province’s 508,327 immunization target population,” according to DOH-13.

With 208,132 fully vaccinated persons, or 66.68 percent of its 312,157 target population, Agusan del Norte is ranked second on the list.

A total of 397,250 people in Agusan del Sur have been fully vaccinated, accounting for 65.94 percent of the province’s 602,420 target population.

Surigao del Norte, on the other hand, came in fourth place, with 284,474 fully vaccinated people, or 64.49 percent of its 441,103 target population.

The Province of Dinagat Islands, on the other hand, reached 56.52 percent of its 106,356 target population, or 60,112 fully vaccinated individuals.

Butuan City had the highest rate of completely vaccinated individuals among the cities in the region, at 84.52 percent, or 250,859 people out of a total of 296,808 people.

DOH-13 reported a total of 1,564,099 fully immunized individuals across the region, or 68.99 percent of its target population.
