Several passenger ship operations that had been halted owing to bad weather made worse by the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” resumed on Friday.

The Baseport Legazpi to Rapu-Rapu, Albay route, and the Bulan, Sorsogon to Ticao Island, Masbate route, both under the control of the Port Management Office (PMO) in Bicol, are among the journeys mentioned by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) in a Facebook post.

As part of the PMO Negros Occidental/Banago/Bacolod Bredco (NOBB), sea trips at the ports of Bulado and Sibulan have also restarted.

The ports of Calbayog, San Isidro, Liloan, Borongan, and Guiuan, as well as the TMO of Catbalogan, have all seen the return of sea voyages in the PMO Eastern Leyte/Samar.

Passenger ship operations at the Port of Hilongos have resumed at PMO Western Leyte/Biliran.

At the PMO Negros Oriental/Siquijor, sea excursions have also resumed at the ports of Bulado and Sibulan.

In the event that they were impacted by the temporary stoppage, the PPA recommended maritime passengers to coordinate with shipping companies.

Due to poor weather on Thursday, a number of ports in the PMO Bicol, Western Leyte/Biliran, NOBB, Eastern Leyte/Samar, and Negros Oriental/Siquijor provinces canceled passenger maritime trips.
