On Wednesday, the Davao Regional Police Office (PRO-11) published the number of cities and municipalities on the region’s election watchlist.

The PRO-11 said in a statement that they had classified regions under the Davao City Police Office as “election areas of little security concern” as part of Commission on Elections Resolution No. 10481, which mandates placing specific locations in the country under Comelec authority.

A city and eight municipalities in Davao del Sur; a municipality in Davao Occidental; three municipalities in Davao del Norte; a municipality in Davao Oriental; and 11 municipalities in Davao de Oro were recognized as areas of concern across the region.

PRO-11 head Brig. Gen. Filmore Escobal said they are also looking into seven municipalities as places of concern or those that have had suspected election-related events (ERIs) in the previous two elections.

He stated that they have classified one city and 17 municipalities as election regions of immediate concern, or those that are affected by armed threats from the New People’s Army in addition to the presence of ERIs.
