MANILA — Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso reaffirmed on Tuesday that he supports Dr. Willie Ong, his vice-presidential candidate, despite the fact that some of his fans are backing other candidates.

He cannot, however, tell the electorate who to vote for, and he respects the people’s decisions.

“Ako po, Isko-Doc Willie, period,” says the narrator.

May kanya kanya yung mga organisasyon. As a candidate, hindi natin mapipigilan kayo, ang options ninyo, kasi hindi natin katulad ng Estados Unidos ang two-party system. When the president is binoto, the vice president is panalo (For me, it’s Isko-Doc Willie, period.) Candidates are also available through the organizations. We can’t stop you from making your decisions as a candidate. We don’t have a two-party system like the United States, where a president’s vice president wins as well. That is the terrible reality of our political process,” Domagoso stated during an ambush interview on Tuesday in General Santos City.

Social media users were quick to spot posters of Domagoso and Sara Duterte in his Mindanao outings.

Lito Banayo, the departing Manila mayor’s campaign strategist, said it was his personal decision not to bring Ong with them to the BARMM, particularly in Maguindanao, because the Mangudadatus had openly stated their preference for a Domagoso-Duterte ticket.

Domagoso expressed his admiration for Ong, whom he described as a good person.

“Maswerte ako mga kababayan,” says the narrator. Doc Willie, sana makilala ninyo ng husto. If you really know him, napakadisente, napakalinis ng puso, and I’m lucky maganda ‘yung kanyang saloobin at ‘yung kanyang (I’m lucky. I hope you have the opportunity to meet the real Doc Willie. He is extremely humble, decent, and has a pure heart),” he stated.

He expressed gratitude to everyone who endorsed him and supported Aksyon Demokratiko candidates.

The National Executive Coordinating Committee of Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte, led by former Agrarian Reform Secretary and senatorial candidate John Castriciones, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Interim Chief Minister Ahod “Al hajj Murad” Ebrahim, and the Mangudadatus of Maguindanao are among them.

Maintain your fight.

Ong announced on Monday night that he would run for vice president till the May 9 elections in a social media post.

“Nasa akin ang bola. Tuloy tuloy hanggang May 9. Eye on the ball ako (The ball is on me. I will continue (this fight) until May 9. I am eye on the ball),” he said.

He said that an apparent statement alleging that he was harmed by the Domagoso-Duterte tandem effort was made a month ago but only recently made public.

Ong stated that he had no ill thoughts or anger in his heart since it would harm his presidential campaign.

“Kailangan ko manalo para mabigay tulong sa mahihirap [para] sa gamutan, pagkain (I need to win so I can provide health care and food to the poor),” he remarked.

He expressed gratitude to individuals who offered words of support and pledged to focus on assisting the needy and addressing health and other challenges.
