Employees in the National Capital Region who have not been vaccinated are permitted to utilize public transportation for a period of 30 days.

Workers in the National Capital Region (NCR) who are unvaccinated or inadequately vaccinated will have only 30 days from January 26 to continue using public transit to go around the metropolis.

Only fully vaccinated personnel in the NCR will be allowed to use public transit thirty days after the new procedure is announced.

Partially vaccinated workers will be able to board public transit within the 30-day interval.

Individuals who are partially unvaccinated are still in danger, thus they will not be permitted to utilize public transportation if immunization is not completed within the 30-day deadline.

After checking over the country’s vaccination data, Secretary of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Silvestre Bello III, Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Eduardo Ao, and Secretary of Transportation (DOTr) Arthur Tugade resolved the topic in an inter-agency meeting on January 21.

Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated workers who use public transit will be protected from getting and developing severe coronavirus disease, according to DOTr Undersecretary Artemio Tuazon Jr. (Covid-19).

Tuazon went on to say that the joint decision backed up the government’s attempts to boost up immunization efforts, particularly in light of the highly transmissible Omicron form.

“We want all of our employees to be properly vaccinated, especially now that Covid-19 vaccinations are no longer in low supply and there is a fear of highly transmissible viral variations,” says the company. We’re providing our employees enough time to be vaccinated,” he continued.

Tuazon underlined that the new protocol isn’t discriminatory in any way.

“Workers who will remain unvaccinated 30 days after the announcement are not being excluded from their employment, as decided by the DOLE, DILG, and DOTr.” “They are simply not permitted to utilize public transit, but they are permitted to use alternative modes of transportation such as active transportation, private vehicles, or company shuttle services,” Tuazon explained.
